Logbook for 5 - 7 April 2017


ALASKA
KNLS - New Life Station
via Anchor Point, 15.515 kHz, SINPO 55545 -- near perfect reception with slight fading. Christian programming with contemporary Western pop music was heard during their "English Hour" from 03.45 till 04.00 UTC (broadcast time 03.00 till 04.00 UTC).

CHINA & RUSSIA
NVK Radio Sakha via Yakut and CNR 1 via Beijing mixing on 7.345 kHz at approximately the same strength (SINPO) 33543. At 11.05 UTC talk in Chinese from CNR and music from R. Skha was observed, and has been for many days.

GERMANY
NHK World - Radio Japan
via Nauen, 15.445 kHz, SINPO at 17.05 UTC was 35433. By 17.40 UTC, reception had deteriorated to 25321. Profile of the Doobie Brothers and their music was heard in this Japanese broadcast from 17.05 till 17.50 UTC.

GREECE
Helliniki Radiophonia (Voice of Greece)
via Avlis, 9.420 kHz, SINPO 44444 - fair to good signal with a bit of transmitter noise and fading, yet clear and strong audio.  A selection of contemporary Greek music and news at the top of the hour was monitored from 18.25 till 19.05 UTC.

JAPAN
NHK World - Radio Japan via Yamata, Russian service with news, current events report and Japanese song was observed from 11.00 till 11.30 UTC. Reception on 7.355 kHz rated a SINPO of 45544.

REPUBLIC OF KOREA
KBS World Radio
via Kimjae, 9.640 kHz, SINPO 54544, K-Pop programme in English was monitored from 14.10 till 14.45  UTC.

KBS World Radio
via Kimjae, 9.640 kHz, SINPO 55545. The programme "The Sound of Korea" was noted from 16.45 till 17.00 UTC.


Receiver used: Tecsun S-2000 and Degen DE-1102. External antenna: 1/4 wave and 10-metre long wire, respectively. RX location: central West Malaysia.
